Ellington Field - STS 115 Crew Return

Robbi sent me an email this morning from the office.  “Do you want to go to the STS-115 Crew Return celebration at Ellington Field?”.   5 Minutes later I was in the car and on my way to pick her up from Johnson Space Center.

We arrived a little late due to traffic and my inability to remember the way to Ellington Field (Its like a straight road from JSC!!!).  Anyway, we missed the Commander and Pilot on the podium, but we did catch the Mission Specialists Joe Tanner and Heidi (Xena) talking about their roles and the memories they will have of the whole thing.  Heidi unfortunately was a little overwhelmed with the situation and obviously has not 100% re-acclimatized since her return from space.  The upshot of that was that she fainted during her session at the podium.  Needless to say, she got the biggest round of applause!  It takes guts to do what they did.

Anyway, here are some photos I snapped!
