Seabrook, full of surprises!

During my photo trip yesterday I took the opportunity to take a look at the Pelican Path Project sculptures that are dotted around the Seabrook and Clear Lake area.  Here is a quote from the projects Web Site.

“Pelican Path Mission Statement

This goal of the Pelican Path Project has been to improve Seabrook’s visibility and identity as a community enhanced by its strong ecotourism, quiet family lifestyle, water recreation, and its quaint small businesses.  Seabrook is in the center of the third largest boating community in the country, and with that comes a multitude of boating, fishing, and other water sports activities as well as the nature and birding opportunities.

The Pelican Path Project has proved to enhance the appreciation of Seabrook and its surrounding areas to attract visitors from all over the country to visit our Pelicans on display!  The incredible artists from all over the state of Texas who have participated in this project have attracted future plans for more cultural art projects in Seabrook.”

I took a couple of photos, one of the City Hall Pelican and also the one located outside Hooters (no I did not stop for hot wings! Robbi would have something to say about that!)

Original Seabrook Sign

This sign is at the intersection of I-146 and Nasa Road 1 and is the original Seabrook Logo Sign.  I think I prefer it to the new one which I use at on the banner of Denny and Charlie site.

If I get the chance today, or over the weekend, I may just take Pelican Tour myself and see if I can get shots of the complete set.  It adds to the library!

I always think of taking pictures of these things each time I drive past them on the way to Kemah, but I just haven't done it yet. Maybe that will be an excursion one day.
